Cosmopack 2025: discovering excellence in the cosmetic supply chain

The highly anticipated Cosmopack event, the leading trade show for the cosmetic supply chain, is approaching. Organized in conjunction with Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, Cosmopack will take place in Bologna from March 20 to 22, 2025. Industry leaders and key players attending the event will have the opportunity to explore the most innovative technologies and the latest collections, embarking on a journey through the newest developments in all sectors of the supply chain.

Year after year, Cosmopack has gained increasing prestige among global stakeholders, establishing itself as the only B2B event that engages the entire cosmetic production chain. Its synergy with Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, which brings together major finished product brands, fosters networking between suppliers and companies, creating ideal conditions for developing new partnerships.

Once again, Cosmopack is set to host the best of the international supply chain, featuring 596 companies from 34 countries. Cosmopack continues to represent the entire production chain, covering raw materials and ingredients, formulation, private label solutions, processing, packaging, quality control, identification, logistics, contract manufacturing, and full-service solutions. The event caters to any brand or operator interested in developing a cosmetic product, regardless of production scale.

Thanks to these features, Cosmopack is becoming an increasingly strategic component of all Cosmoprof network events worldwide, facilitating connections between suppliers and finished product brands on a global scale.

THE NEW LAYOUT OF COSMOPACK 2025

To further showcase global manufacturing excellence, the upcoming edition will feature a redesigned exhibition layout. This update optimizes the organization of Cosmopack’s pavilions, providing more space for supply chain companies.

In Pavilion 20, the area dedicated to ingredients will expand to include fragrance houses and creators of ambient scents, encouraging direct collaboration with contract manufacturers to better align supply and demand. Additionally, Pavilion 19 will be entirely dedicated to Cosmopack, with a significant expansion of the machinery sectorfeaturing 93 companies—and the introduction of new businesses specializing in robotics and digital services.

TRENDS IN THE COSMETIC INDUSTRY

Sustainability remains a fundamental driver of the cosmetic industry’s evolution, influencing all sectors of the supply chain. At Cosmopack, attendees will discover the latest advancements in raw materials and ingredients, cutting-edge biotech formulations, and state-of-the-art logistics technologies.

Discussions on circularity within the supply chain continue to focus on packaging, particularly on the end-of-life phase of cosmetic products. Sustainable packaging requires a collective effort, involving all industry players—from material sourcing to production, manufacturing, logistics, retail distribution, and consumer purchasing, all the way to waste management. At Cosmopack 2025, top industry leaders will present groundbreaking solutions for a circular packaging supply chain, including biodegradable materials, refillable and recyclable product solutions, and advanced logistics technologies.

A notable development for Cosmopack 2025 is the expansion of contract manufacturing, particularly in the fragrance sector, reflecting the growing popularity of this category among consumers. From fragrances and essential oils used as raw materials in formulations to perfume manufacturers, home fragrance products, candles, and decorative items, the event will showcase numerous innovations. Highlights will include the application of neuroscience in fragrance development, microbiome-friendly solutions, next-generation biodegradable ingredients, and gender-neutral formulations.

RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN

Innovation and creativity are at the heart of the Cosmoprof & Cosmopack Awards, which celebrate excellence among exhibiting companies.

While the Cosmoprof Awards recognize innovations in finished products, the Cosmopack Awards honor the most groundbreaking and advanced supply chain solutions that shape new consumer habits and trends. The awards will feature six categories: Hair Care Formula, Innovation Technology, Make-Up Formula, Packaging – Design and Materials, Skincare Formula, and Sustainability. A technical jury of experts in ingredients, formulations, and market trends will evaluate all entries, selecting three finalists per category. A multidisciplinary panel of retailers, opinion leaders, communication experts, and trend scouts will determine the winners. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025.
